We’re looking for a Commercial Lead to join our team in Denver/Boulder to support development of our first commercial scale-up project including securing offtake and optimizing pathways to revenue.
It's an exciting time to join Origen following the recent close of our Series A (led by Barclays Climate Ventures) and a large-scale demonstration project operational later this summer!

What you'll be getting involved with!🤩
A typical day for our Commercial Lead would look like:
- Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and work alongside Origen’s Senior Project Manager in the Commercialization function
- Leading commercial/contracting aspects of project development interfacing with co-developers (e.g. Shell and Mitsubishi), Origen’s EPC (e.g. Hatch) and suppliers/contractors to get project to Final-Investment-Decision (FID)
- Conducting market analysis and engage with buyers of carbon removal supporting goal to secure offtake for Origen’s first commercial project
- Owning economic analysis for first scale-up project and pipeline of developing projects
- Leading project development, building pipeline for future growth
- Engaging externally e.g. industry groups, policy makers, etc to grow Origen profile

The long-term focus for this role is to build out our commercial, business development, project development and marketing capabilities to support scaling of business to megatonne+ carbon removal.
To do this, you will need to have:
- Experience in a commercial, business development or project development role
- Knowledge of and interest in carbon removal technology, offtake and markets
- Experience with offtake agreements or similar
- Strong modelling capability, and experience with project or techno-economic modelling
- Strong proficiency of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent communication skills in written and verbal form
- A Bachelor’s degree in either economics, engineering, business administration or a similar field
